All user interaction with e-TOPS is conducted using standard web browsers (such as Internet Explorer).  In order to implement powerful and friendly user interface mechanisms, the Java language has been employed throughout the system.  This allows for easy and inexpensive access to the system by local and remote users alike.

For messaging with the computer systems of suppliers or travel agents, the standard B2B XML communication format is used.

The servers preferably employed are based on the open Linux Operating System, allowing for the highly cost-effective implementation of an efficient and secure system.
